Born in Sines 56 years ago, I am an anthropologist and have worked on cultural heritage, particularly the so-called intangible heritage. I have been part of various teams that have included various manifestations of such heritage on UNESCO lists: Fado, Cante Alentejano, Fabrico de Chocalhos and Morna (Cape Verde). I have published several books and CDs. At the moment I am working on the installation in Lagoa (Algarve) of Casa da Cidadania (Citizenship House), a project for education in Democracy.
