I am a happy person, in love with Maria Jo\u00e3o, with whom I have lived for over 20 years. I have wanted to be a writer ever since I can remember reading \u2013 long after I learned how to want to \u2013 and I am happy to write every day for the people who make and read the <em>P\u00fablico<\/em> newspaper. It&#8217;s not easy to write every day \u2013 but the obligation to write is good. For those who have never written a diary, it is strange how many things happen to us. And the sadness and other qualities of such things that we would otherwise never mention. It was here, in <em>P\u00fablico<\/em>, in large print, that I found the compass of my heart.
