S & I: Rolls and shell made from trimmings dough, butter cream filling. Sweet egg cream coating, sprinkled with icing sugar. H & C: Although not a common cake these days, it has been produced for at least 40 years. However, no one was able to confirm the origin of its name, which may be connected with the Italian royal family, to either Queen Maria Pia, or to King Humberto II who lived in exile in Cascais since the World War II.
